Happy Summer!
So often we can let ourselves get wrapped up in stress about a future event - stress far out of balance with what is actually going to happen. Here's an example. I had a mercury filling in my mouth. I get deluged with health related books to review because of the websites I run. In the last few months I must have read ten different books that all warned about the dangers of mercury fillings. After the tenth one I decided this was something I should really look into. So despite my fears of dental procedures, I made an appointment to get my mercury filling removed.

I was stressed and full of angst about this for a long, long time. And then I went in. Sure it was stressful - for a whole 20 minutes! And then it was done, and now I'm mercury free! I'm having fun eating garlic-and-cilantro salsa to help chelate out the mercury bits that the drill set loose. And now for the rest of my life I'm mercury free.

Was it really worth months and months of angst over a 20 minute process that, really, wasn't that bad at all? How often do we build up trouble in our minds and the buildup is far worse than the actual event?

If you've been putting something off, take a stand. All this trepidation you're going through is NOT worth it. Just do it. It'll be over with, and done, and your life won't have a dark cloud hanging over it any more. Life is too short to waste it dreading some future event. Get through it, and get on with enjoying life!
