It is her beauty and innocence that draws knight in to her. The man is powerless to resist. This version is more intimate than the Sir Frank Dicksee 1902 version. In this one they are side by side, right up against each other, and she is pulling him down to the grass with her. Note the heart on her sleeve, a classic metaphor.
