I get sick of all the stupid arguments

Visitor's Question:
I have been with my boyfriend for about 8 months now. At first everything was great. I loved the fact that he had NEVER (and I really mean never)had a girl friend before. I have had relationships so I thought that this will be a great "new beginning" for me. Of course every relationship has its problems because nothing is perfect. But about 2 months ago we had our first arguement. Ever since it doesn't seem to stop. Its never really a big fight, more bickering than anything. I feel that I could really have something with him, but I get sick of all the stupid arguments. What bothers me the most is its always the same thing and he always "promises" that he'll be more considerate of my feelings, but give it a week and its back to normal. I just want us to be happy again and enjoy our relationship. I know it can never be like it was, I just want to find ways to help for the future. What can I do to help solve these stupid little problems?!?

Our Suggestion:
Little arguments often hide other problems in the relationship.

Sometimes the issue is control. But perhaps your reason is different so spend some time thinking about what your arguments have in common. Do they come at the same time of the month or always on the weekends?

Since the arguments are for small reasons, perhaps you two could set up a team approach to solving the problem. Whenever an argument comes up, one or the other of you could make the peace sign and the other person has to give in. This will only work for small arguments of course.

Give it a try! George
