Visitor's Question:
My girlfriend and I have been together for 6 years. When we first got together she was everything I ever wanted. She showed me more love than I ever felt before. I, on the otherhand was not very good to her. I was very cocky and self-centered. After a while , I started seeing how much she really meant to me. I changed my ways, started showing her that I love her and the whole nine yards. 3 years ago, she broke up with me. Telling me that we had grown apart. Although she said that there was not anyone else, there was. After 8 months of not talking, we got back together and moved in together. We then spent 24/7 together. I worked online, allowing her not to have to work, so we were never apart for these last 3 years. Recently, we got in another fight and she left for 2 weeks. The fight was that I never showed her any attention and that I wasn't in love with her, (which I wasn't much anymore). During those 2 weeks, I changed. I knew that i couldn't live without her. She was my everything. Well, she got a job. Something that is very difficult for me to trust her at since she hurt me so much in the past and difficult since we have not been apart for a long time. She also acts like that i don't matter too much to her. She takes her time getting home after work. When she is home, she never is really affectionate with me. She is acting like I use to and now I feel like she did. I try to get her to see how much I love her but all she does is get mad. I start crying each time, but she yells and gets annoyed. I can't even talk to her. Nothing reaches her. My question is, why is she acting like this? Why is it that I am not important to her anymore and how can I get us back on the level we use to be? I am in misery each day just waiting for her to atleast call me once or twice or waiting on her to come home from work. I want to know that she still needs me.

Our Suggestion:
Remember how you felt when you didn't really love her much.

It must have hurt her a lot and now you are getting those feelings thrown back at you. You will have to continue to put in hard work at showing her how much you care. Eventually she will pay attention to you if you are sincere and gentle.

Your situation should also improve because you are no long 24/7. Too much time together puts a great strain on a relationship.

Good luck! George
