Visitor's Question:
There is this guy... Matt we shall call him. I'm about to be a senior in high school and he just graduated. We're both from new orleans and katrina forced him to move to austin. We met about 6 years ago and saw each other off and on. we had a small things for each other about two years ago and then after i finally got out of a horrible relationship i decided i wanted to really start talking to him. so i sent him a really random text message and he told me he was coming in town at the end of the week. basically he left a day early not to dissapoint our plans together, and then the next night we went out again and wound up sleeping together. and then the next day we had lunch together and saw a movie and eventually slept together again. and then the next day we saw each other again and now im here on tuesday. the time we've spent together thus far is amazing. i LOVE his personality, he is undeniably attractive to me, though he his too humble to admit it. i really see something special in him that i've been looking for. and i WANT to love him, i WANT to make HIM happy. i want to see him smile more and i want to be with him for a long time. he said he is ready to settle down and i even asked him last night if he was scared of anything and he said "i am scared of falling for you then moving at the end of august." he doesn't know where college will take him yet. and all i could say was "well, all i have to offer is 100% devotion and trust." and he said, "i can offer that too, but lets just take it step by step so no one gets hurt." well.. we've already slept together twice. and dont get me wrong, it was amazing. but i dont think i want to continue working towards something if all im going to get is a colossial dissappointment. i know he is not a "player." i know him well enough to decifer his intentions between good and bad. i just dont know where i stand now. he said he wants to see me a lot, likes being with me, and when i came out and said i liked him a lot he said thats one of the greatest things he's ever heard. i want to help show him in anyway that if college leads him to texas and things work out that way i might even follow b/c i like UT at austin as well. and maybe he can stay at lsu or uno. i just want advice on how to be a good friend to him and how should i handle this? i am falling for him fast, i really want to be with him. we both agree we are dating but i want to take that to the girlfriend and boyfriend level.

Our Suggestion:
The big problem is what is going to happen in August.

The more you talk about it the better the chances of something good happening. So don't go along with his idea of taking one step at a time.

It's surprising that he hasn't figured out where he is going to college yet but perhaps that's due to the hurricane. Once he has decided, you could try to go to that college if it turns out ok with you two.

By the time you are ready to decide it should be clear.

Good luck! George
