what does she think?

Visitor's Question:
I'm 15, I'm a guy, I've known this girl since I was about 6 and a half so my memories kinda fuzzy about when we first met. But from what I could tell we were going-out-ish. A year after we met she moved further away. Her & my parents are quiet good freinds so we see each other about four times a year. VERY depressing. We kind of got less close as time went on and I don't know if she feels we're going out. This has been bugging me since I was eleven. It's driving me insane not knowing how she feels! I can't go out with anyone because she might think we're stil going out, I can't ask her how she feels, firstly because it's sound pretty dumb saying "er... do you love me?" And secondly she could say either "No! What the heck made you think that you nutcase?" or "of course we are! have you got amnesia or something?" I pretty much suck at flirting, pretty much because I've never had the chance to (because I've being going-out-ish with someone since before I knew what flirting was)and secondly I'm too nervous. What the heck am I supposed to do????

Please help me. I know it sounds stupid but it could screw up my head if this continues much longer

I have always loved her since we met and I really think that it could work out if she lets me know.

I love her so much that sometimes I wish I want to die, just to get out of this situation and be in heaven so by the time we meet again she'll be with someone else so I can get the pain out of the way swiftly in one moment of seeing her with someone else.

please help me.

Our Suggestion:
You have done a very good job of analyzing the situation.

You should grab the bull by the horns. Print out your email and send it to her. She should be delighted (perhaps a bit surprised too) by what you say. Even if she doesn't feel the same way about you.

It isn't fair for you to be suffering so much. It is important to get this subject out in the open so that it doesn't fester like an untreated wound.

It will take courage to do this but you will be thankful you did. Otherwise you might spend the rest of your life wondering.

Good luck! George
