What can I do?

Visitor's Question:
I'm 19 years old and I recently met a guy (21) through a woman I used to work with. We talked online and by phone before meeting in person. I found it difficult to talk with him online because he barely talked. However, the third time we talked online for hours he asked me to a party (we didn't go because the friend of his who was having the party decided not to have it). The guy said he was sorry for what happened. We talked about what to do because we said we'd meet each other in person. He suggested somewhere to eat (this is considered a date?), but we ended up going to the pool. I was surprised that being in person with him was so much better because we talked so much more. I discovered we have so much in common. Later that day he told me he would be going to a baseball game and after finding out one of his friends decided to scalp one ticket, the guy asked me what I was doing. I gave him a long explanation that I wasn't busy (I thought my mom was going to my youngest brother's baseball game and I'd be home alone). He didn't ask me more. Before he left he said he'd see me soon.

My problem is I just met him and somehow I feel like he doesn't want to do anything else with me (although he told me he'd take me to some parties at school). I think he may like one of my friends, one of our common connections (he mentioned her twice and said he likes her, but as a friend or more than a friend?) I understand we just met and I need to take things slow and that he has other friends. I'm not good at reading guys' messages and I really lack self-confidence with guys. I'm about to give up on relationships since I feel I can't attract a guy, much less keep a relationship. Please help me so I don't get my hopes up.

Our Suggestion:
It's too early to decide on this one.

Give him a chance to get back to you before starting to wonder.

But, if you want to, contact him and ask him out to dinner.

Good luck! George
