Random / Scared of me?

Visitor's Question:
There is one girl at school who I like. I never say anything to her, unless I am asking her about homework online. However, she and I are in alot of classes toghther, and she acts random towards me. An example is when I was walking down the deserted hallways, and she and a friend were there. They joked around with me, and it seemed pretty unusual.

During another class she had me walk over to her, and then she gave me a note which made zero sense. When I do talk to her online, she is very nice, and it sometimes seems like she trys to extend the conversation with me. If I make eye contact with her sometimes, she jokes around and makes a strange face back. She doesn't act very random when alot of people are around. Sometimes, when walking, I seem to make good eye contact with her.

Last year, a friend told me this girl thought I was cute, and if I had asked last year, would have gone to a dance with me (but I asked too late)

A friend of mine asked her before if she liked me. She said she liked me as a friend. In another case, she responded saying that she didnt think she had time for a boyfriend right now.

Not long after I was told she said she thought I was cute and that she would have gone to that dance with me.

A friend thinks she is scared of me (alot of people are, I'm pretty serious and I dont smile much, even though I do joke around), and uses the randomness as a way to get around that. I must add that shes random around other guys also, but its "mutual". For instance, they joke around with her, and she responds. With me, she always initiates it, and if she seems to get scared because I dont respond, she does the same thing to my friend to make it seem more casual.

Anyways, does she like me? If not, why is she so random with me?

Our Suggestion:
Like you said, she is probable is scared of you.

You need to smile more!! This is one of the best ways to improve relationships. It makes the other person feel good when you smile at them and it also makes your feel good.

Practice doing this in the mirror... even say "Hi" plus her name and then smile into the mirror.

This small change in your behavior will work miracles with her.

Good luck! George
