Visitor's Question:
I have known my best friend since six grade and I started to fell something more than friendship when I was in ninth grade and we flirt a lot but then he told me that I was like a sister to him and that he felt something for my friend. I was torn but I accepted it. They never got to be a couple they were just getting to know each other when my friend told him that she loved someone else, that was in 10 grade. She said to him that she hated him and he almost tried to kill him self and I stopped him. When everything was over with them I told him that why her and he said that if I knew someone that was great for him and I told him that yes. We spent like 2 hours talking about it and I chicken out and told him that it was someone else. The thing is that my bestfriend hates him and they never speak and I thin that she is really mean to him. Now I am in 11 grade and we still are bestfriend we have had so many stuff together that I am 100 percent sure that I love. I have spent 5 years of my life in love with him and everybody thinks that we are a couple. If I tell him all those years will be like nothing and by the way he has already had a bad memory of falling in love with a friend. No one knows him better than me and he knows me better than anyone. Another problem is that if I even become a couple with him my friend will never speak to me again. Last week she started yelling at me because I was talking to him and told me to pick between him and her. I know him more years than her but still. There are so many girls in school that just meet him 2 month ago that say that they love him so easily but me I have loved him since 6 grade. Sometimes he hugs me for about 10 minutes and tells me that he loves me but I think that he say it like a friend. Please help me I have had like 4 boyfriends and I have left them all for him.

Our Suggestion:
You have to tell him the truth or it may affect your relationship.

When you tell him that might also change things-- for better or worse.

You can come right out and tell him you've loved him for a long time.

Another way is to say that you are "developing feelings" for him... romantic feelings. Wait and see what he says and if he needs time let him have it but ask him again the next day how he feels. One day is enough for him to think about it.

Good luck! George
