Visitor's Question:
7 months ago I met the woman I thought I was going to spend my life with. We worked for a commmon company in different cities, and we met at a function. When we met she was not only in a relationship, but also was dealing with her parents divorcing after over 30 years of marriage. I had told her I would not see her until her relationship was over. After about 4 weeks, she ended her relaionship which she insisted had been on the brink for months. A couple days after she ended it with him, she drove four hours to my office to surprise me. After that, we started to travel, seeing one and other every weekend for months. She would constantly tell me how she felt about me, how much she liked me and talk about our future. I ended up moving to her city after 6 months of dating. After three weeks of being here, she sent me an email saying she never wanted to see or talk to me ever again, stating it would be best "for both of us". However, she gave no reason why. She told one of her friends that she felt I was "too much drama" because I asked her frequently about the status of our relationship. She had become much less affectionette and appeared less interested which probed these questions from me. She told this same friend that "it was so frustrating it was beyond repair and it would never work ever again now". In heinsight, I can see what she was saying, although it was inflicted from circumstance, not our lack of trust or accountability. She had signed agreements to buy a house with me and was talking about how she loved me just three or four days before she ended it. What can I do? When will she speak to me if ever? How do I go on?

Our Suggestion:
This sounds like a classic case of cold feet.

Everything was going fine until you moved and started buying a house with her. At that point she seems to have cooled off.

It was wrong of her to break up without giving a reason and saying she never wanted to speak with you again. She must feel very guilty to take that stance.

My advice is to forget her. She is not a kind or gentle person and is selfish too.

Good luck! George
