Visitor's Question:
Well, so I like this girl in my French class that sits across from me. I've liked her since the beginning of the semester. Whenever someone makes a funny comment she laughs and looks at me. Whenever the teacher says something to somebody or to me she looks at me too. In the hall or anywhere I meet her she always says "Hi!" and gives this big smile and usually waves along with that. I started to say hi to her too (I'm sorta shy) and it makes me feel a lot better. So now she is a sophomore and I'm a freshman. Sometimes I think she likes me but then it sorta disappears because I see her with a billion of her friends especially this one guy she knows who is her grade. Randomly after class she sometimes asks me questions like "what are your classes this semester" or "I saw you at the park on Sun. were you with your little brother?" and I answer and then try say something else but I don't know what to say and then she's gone to her next class. I now try to talk with her as much as possible after class and when I can during class. I really like her, but......what should I do now? I've read all your steps and a billion personal advice tips and none of them work.......remember that she hangs out with this boy that's her grade. I read somewhere here that I should wink at her when she looks at me. Wink? Me? I would embarrass myself in front of her by probably making her think that I'm not serious or I'm just a show-off or something. That's what it looks like to me.

Thank you for your time. I'm 15 by the way and she's 16.
And also I appreciate your efforts in making this site a great helper to all those lovers out there. :D

Our Suggestion:
No, I would not recommend winking at her.

Instead continue doing what you are doing which is slowly talking more and more with her until both of you feel like good friends.

Share information, feelings, and affection with her and you will do fine.

Information is the usual daily chit-chat that you are probably already doing; feelings are how you and she feel about important things in your life like family, friends, school, etc.; and, affection is smiling, complimenting, and hugging. All these things will result in a stronger relationship.

It seems that she already likes you, so keep doing what you are doing and add some of the things I've mentioned. BTW, nothing works overnight, so have patience.

Good luck! George
