He has more friends that are girls than guys...Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Me and my boyfriend are pretty close, but we live far away from eachother. And he tells me all about his friends, and they are mostly girls. The amount of guys he tells me aabout compared to girls are maybe, 1:5. And like, I don't know, all my life, I have been jealous. I'm self concious about my looks and, all his friends are really pretty and, from what he tells me "amazing" and what worries me is that, half of his best friends [girls] have/had a crush on him, or he was involved with in a way. I just, don't know what to do, I trust him, just I can't stop being jealous. Our Suggestion: Jealousy is a hard emotion to deal with and long distance romance often brings with it jealousy. Why?-- when you have small understanding or worries, you can't immediately in-person deal with them. You have put your finger on the problem: your insecurity about yourself. Build up you own feelings of self-worth by strengthening certain aspects of yourself. It will make you feel better and, by the way, will make you more attractive to others (including your boyfriend.) These aspects are, briefly: intellect, compassion, communications, sociability, and affection. Each one of these can be broken down into manageable sub-aspects. For example, intellect could include working hard to improve your grades, reading a newspaper, or work on your vocabulary. None of this easy and nobody can do it all but we can all chip away at improving our self-esteem. One thing you can be happy about is that you have a boyfriend.
