Visitor's Question:
I am all confused. i like this guy and he told me that he really likes me. so we planned a date but we werent really sure what exactly we were going to do so he said that he would call me the next day, well the next day i never got a call and then he came on the internet and told me that he had got caught up with work but i really wasnt sure cuz he still could have called to tell me he had to break it.

well after that he was still saying how he liked me and weeks passed by and i really like him so i told him look i really like u but sometimes i feel as if u dont care about me anymore and im not going to wait around for you forever so then he was like but i really do like u but i am really busy w/ work but i will make time for us to be together and weeks went by again and everytime i told him that i wasnt going to wait he would say how he still likes me.

now if he didnt want to be with me dont u think that he would say i think we are better off as friends for now insted of saying that he still likes me? could he just be trying to keep me around till hes not so busy with work? like someimes he acts like he really likes me and then other times he acts like he doesnt care and when i talked to him he said it was because of work but he still really does like me.

can you help me im very confused and i dont know what i should do .

Our Suggestion:
I have to agree with you here. If he didn't like you, it would be easy enough just to say let's be friends or something. But he insists he DOES like you and doesn't want you to give up on him. In the meantime his work is being very very stressful and he just can't juggle work and a girlfriend right now.

Lots of people are under huge stress at work because of all the layoffs and tight economy and everything else. So he may be on a project that takes up all his time, makes him work overtime and he really doesn't have any free time to do anything. He is probably hoping that the project will end soon and he WILL have time to date you and he doesn't want to lose you in the meantime.

I would help him understand that LOTS of people date long distance and NEVER see each other! Dating doesn't have to meen "8 times a week" together! Even if you just went out a night a week when he had time, that could be fun! So instead of being general and vague and saying "we should date sometime," be specific. Tell him "I want to go see Matrix 3 this weekend. What time is good for you?" He has to be able to take **2 hours** out of his life! But it sounds like he is way too stressed out to try to plan anything. You need to be the planner.
