Getting close to her

Suggest Advice

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
Hi. There's this girl that was my best friend's girlfriend, and they broke up 4 months ago. She always said I was cool and funny, she used to drop comments on my myspace profile saying that. I thought she liked me, but I barely spoke with her, because she was with another guy (my best friend).

A week ago, I started talking with her, and I've tried to keep good conversations with her, and she says she loves talking to me. I moved to another region, and now I am going back to her city for a week, for my holidays, where I used to live.

The conversations we've been having have been very good, we speak about practically everything and we have tons in common. She says that we are gonna spend the whole week together. She even said she wanted to take me to a mountain and have lunch there, just me and her.

She hasn't seen me in 8 months, and now we both are anxious to be with each other. And because she hasn't seen me in a lot of time, I have the unique chance to impress her and get closer to her, during the week we are going to be together. My big question is how, in one single week, I can get closer to her, make her see that what I want is not just friendship, and ultimately, get a chance to tell her how I feel?

Our Suggestion:
My advice is to tell her now that you are looking forward to seeing her and especially because you have "started to develop feelings for her." Tell her you are telling her now because you don't want to be nervous about the subject when you meet.

The odds are good that she will say she is developing feelings for you too and she will be relieved that the subject has been opened so you won't lose a lot of time during the week dancing around the subject.

Worst case she will say that she just wants to be friends. In that case, you should be very enthusiastic and say that is just fine with you and you still want to spend a lot of time with her during the week.

Whatever she says, when you meet open your arms for a big hug. Touching will
make you both feel more calm.

Good luck! George
