Visitor's Question:
Me and my ex-girlfriend broke up about 3 1/2 months ago. We dated for 5 months, and she was the best thing that ever happened to me. The breakup came as a shock to me, as it came after a few fights (which were the first we ever had, and I assumed that we would be able to just work through them). She surprised me by saying that she "lost feeling" and didn't want to date me anymore. I was devastated by it.

She quickly got in a relationship with someone else, and she's still in that relationship currently. But here's the catch. me and my ex still talk. a lot. We managed to stay friends after our breakup, and I've been hoping to get back with her ever since. She calls me all the time, we hang out on occasion, and we see each other in school every day. In fact, she has told me things like "she couldn't live without me" and that I'm her "best friend".

After a lot of soul searching, I honestly think that she still has feeling for me, at least a little bit. She often calls to talk to me, she acts very flirty around me, and she smiles when our eyes meet and when we talk. Hell, sometimes she even asks for foot and back rubs while we're hanging out. Based on this behavior, do you think that this would hint at her still posessing some feeling for me?

Now here's my main question.. I understand that I cannot do anything with her current boyfriend in the picture. But lately it seems as though she's always complaining about him, and I honestly don't think it'll last much longer. Because I'm in this "best friend" position, what are some steps I could take to help ensure my chances of a successful reunion with her? What can I say/do that will make it easier for her to fall back with me again?

thank you for your help.. It means a lot

Our Suggestion:
It seems that she still likes you a lot. It is unclear whether she is ready to dump her boyfriend though. It is tough on you to provide good advice to her while you love her.

Ask her this: Could we still be good friends if I love you and you don't love me. This will give her a big hint that you love her and she can make up her mind. If she says no, then don't be crushed... at least she knows and will have it in the back of her mind.

Good luck! George
