Visitor's Question:
i am married.i have been unhappy for a long time and wanted to leave my husband but always seemed to postpone it due to various reasons.8 months ago i met a very nice guy. it started as friendship but over time has grown more complicated.he met someone also in this time frame. We have had a strange relationship as we try to just be friends but can't seem to keep it as just that.he keeps on saying he does not want more than friendship as our timing is not right and i am married. i now are about to leave my husband but still cant get any commitment from him that if i do he will stop seeing this other chick.i dont know what the status of that relationship is as he does not answer me when i ask.So yesterday i send him a sms to try and tell him that i cant do this anymore. He freaked, he phoned sms'd etc and i ended up saying i am sorry. He always seems to give me hope and then just crush it.Do i continue on this path of friendship and how do i do it?

Our Suggestion:
When you have a new love, it always seems easier to leave what you have behind. Think about it a lot before you disrupt your current living arrangements, finances, relationships, and life in general. *Especially* when your friendship is on such uncertain standing.

You should have a clear mind as you contemplate your future. Are you willing to risk the possibility of living alone the rest of your life? Since your friend is seeing someone else too, it seems chancey to leave your husband without a firm commitment. I sense that he is not ready to commit.

My advice is to either stay with your husband unless you have fully examined all the possible outcomes. Divorce is never as easy as it seems. If you have children then this is even more important.

If your friend were more committed to you and didn't have another interest, then I would be so pessimistic.

Sorry you are in this situation. George
