Visitor's Question:
i was going out with this amazing girl who seemed to be the only girl that i have ever met who i can really connect with and talk to like a real person. she had recently been through quite a tough break up. about a month after the break up i told her that i had feelings for her and she felt the same way, and things were great for a while, but then she broke up with me, saying that she'd realised that she wasn't going to be able to fall in love with me.

it was kind of a long distance relationship, about an hour's train journey away and the distance was also getting to her. she was my first real relationship and i feel like i was just starting to feel love for her when she broke up with me. a week later she started a relationship with a new person. she claims that she wants to stay friends but we haven't spoken in 3 weeks and we used to speak online for at least an hour each night,

she doesn't make any effort to talk to me and doesn't think that she's wronged me by not even telling me that she'd found someone new so soon. i miss her and i just feel like we were so perfect for eachother, i'm not sure if i was her rebound from her last boyfriend or if her new boyfriend is her rebound from me or even both.

i want to wait until her current relationship ends and try to be there for her and when she is feeling better, tell her that i still care about her and see if anything can happen between us, i'm just not sure if it is a stupid thing to even consider trying, and i'm also wondering if it's worth trying to maintain our friendship because she says she wants to be friends but she's been really reckless with my heart. i just want things between us to be like they used to.
thank you and sorry for the long question

Our Suggestion:
You don't always get what you want... and this seems to be one of those times.

My guess is that you were a rebound which had a chance of working out except for the distance. She seems to be the kind of girl who needs someone near by for better communications.

Your idea of waiting is probably not a good one. After all, she has played with your heart and hurt you badly. This may not be the girl you are looking for. Why not find a girl local to you where there is a better chance of things working out.

Good luck! George
