Going from Friend to Boyfriend-Girlfriend

Visitor's Question:
I met this guy about 7 years ago and was really attracted to him and on his part he was somewhat attracted to me (at least he said he was) unfortunately he had a girlfriend at the time. Sadly he and his girlfriend did not last and for the past 4 years he has been searching for someone to not only be a girlfriend but one day a wife. From the first time I met him we haven't seem each other again until recently but have been in touch continuously over the years, you see I recently moved to the area where he now lives and as such its like what attracted me to him is what is now drawing me into him even more.
Due to the fact that we are both in school and working we try to limit our hang out time to the weekend beginning Thursday ending on Sunday and I can honestly say that he spends this free time with me. During that time together the majority of what he talks about is starting his family and how he feels as though this is closer to happening now more than ever. When I hear him say this I want to just say hey stop looking I am right here. But I haven't for the mere fact that I am so afraid of putting my self out there and he isn't interested.

I really like this man and I am also at a point in my life where I am ready to settle down and beging a family of my own. I believe that if it is that he is interested he will make the move when he is ready but I also believe that I should at least find some way of letting him know that I am interested. What should I think rather what do you think I should do to get this relationship going.

Our Suggestion:
There are a ton of tips on the site about how to go from friend to boyfriend-girlfriend. Go to movies. Then go to more romantic movies. Start hugging hello and goodbye. Each time you meet, up the ante just a little bit. That way it won't feel strange but there will always be progress made.
