She Kissed Me on the Cheek when Drunk

Visitor's Question:
So, I've been in love with my best friend for almost two years. She claims to be bisexual, but really only pursues women. I brought up my feelings early on in our friendship, and she told me that she mostly just thought of me as her best friend and that she didn't want to ruin our friendship.

Anyway, flash forward like 12 months to the present. I'm most likely going to transfer from our school next semester. We decided to have an intimate little drinking party with a few friends in her apartment. I was nauseous from dinner + I don't drink, so I slept in her bed while the others played drinking games.

When I woke up she was REALLY drunk , so I was holding her hair above the toilet as she puked, then she passed out and hit her head on the seat, which freaked me out...So I carried her to the couch. As I placed her on the couch she started rubbing up against me me told me "you're the sweetest guy ever, you're the best friend I've ever had, like seriously what am I going to do without a guy like you next year?". Then she kissed me on the cheek and passed out.

Of course she woke up with no recollection of the night's events. I told her everything but the part where she kissed me.

Should I read into that as anything more then platonic affection from a drunk girl?

Our Suggestion:
I know it's really tempting to hope this was a window into her soul and that she's been secretly lusting after you all this time. However, I think we need to be a bit more realistic here. She was completely drunk and all her inhibitions were lowered - and her desire in that state was to kiss you on the cheek and say you were her friend.

I think you should treasure her friendship, accept that having great friends is a wonderful thing, and look for someone else as a romantic partner. You deserve someone who loves you back fully.
