He Flirts but That's All

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
Hi! I will try to put this as simple as i can... but it will be hard!

So here's the case. I met this guy 2 years ago at an event. We have a common hobby and meet every weekend in the summer. So I started talking to this guy and I took his number and we texted and stuff. We have now become VERY, very close friends. And now I have known and LIKED him a lot for 2 years. I think about him every day, and every time we hang out his attention is all on me and he's flirting so much.

But then something happened and my ex-friend tried to make her boyfriend jealous by flirting with my guy. And of course he fell for her. And it was so painful because she didn't want him, and she knew i liked him.

But now, a year after that, he's still flirting and making me happy and makes me laugh SO MUCH. But he's only texting me when it fits him.

I just can't take it any more. What the hell does he want? Should I talk to him? Or is it to late after 2 years?

Our Suggestion:
It's clear that the guy likes you in general. He's investing a lot of effort into spending time with you and staying in contact. So that is a good thing.

But it seems like he sees you as a casual friend. He's not investing the time or energy to make this into a more serious relationship.

So what you are after is to turn this friend into a boyfriend. We have a ton of tips on how to do that here -

Take it slow, steady, and work on it with serious attention. The more you can prove to him that you are a worthy person to date, the more you can get him to change the way he thinks of you.

Good luck!
