Breaking Up is Hard To Do

Suggest Advice

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
I have just split up with my boyfriend of two and a half years. During this time we have split up five times! I'm not perfect, but the problems of our relationship lay with him. I love this man and care for him deeply yet I have made my decision to finish, I know this is right, but I am very sad and lonely without him. I need help in moving on, without him. I spend a lot of time thinking of him! Any ideas? Thanks.

Our Suggestion:
Well first, I know it's REALLY REALLY hard to break up with someone, especially someone you've been with that long. But you have to do what's best for you, and you have to find a relationship you are happy in, WITHOUT stress. So stand by that. There are MILLIONS of guys out there, and many of them could easily date and be with you without stress. It's just a matter of finding one.

Just about every woman on the planet has been though at least one serious breakup, if not several. So you are NOT alone. You can survive, and you will have learned a lot from the experience and will be even stronger going into your next relationship. Take your time, do things YOU enjoy, spend time being happy with things you love. The pain will heal in a while, and you'll find someone who really appreciates what you have to offer.
