His Girlfriend is Insanely Jealous

Visitor's Question:
I have just a year ago, broken up wih my ex-boyfriend. But we promised we would remain friends, because, before we got involved we were good friends, and we enjoy each other's company.

But now he dating a new girl, and his girl doesn't like me just because I was his ex. She never even got a chance to know me. I mean right now I have my own boyfriend too. But yet she swears I am trying to get her man back. But I have no reason to, it just he has always been a buddy of mine and we share the same interests. But now his girl wants to get rid of me,and won't let me talk to him, or she blocks my screen name and tells me, its my man and I don't like you talking to him.

My ex, he was never that type of person, but, he so, don't want to cause trouble with her, that he go along with what she doing. He's a guy who all he wants is love, and he thinks that any relationship he's in, he has to make it work, he's desperate to have someone. I mean he one of those nice guys, who a girl can easily take advantage of.

I was wondering is it right for me to just stay away, for out of respect for him, even though this is so wrong. Like he tell me, he don't want to talk to me or see me, not at this time but maybe later. I am so mad, because we were such good friend. This girl, is control who he can be friend with and is a very jealous girl. He would at one time never go for that. But he has insecurity of finding a mate, so he allows it. But somehow this seem just unfair.

Our Suggestion:
Unfortunately there is no way to "fix" her insane jealousy and her insecurity. The more you try to do things the more you will feed her paranoia and she will become convinced that her guy is going to leave her. Unfortunately I really doubt anything will fix her. She'll keep being jealous, being insecure and paranoid and just harass him constantly about any female friend he has. Which is NOT healthy.

Hopefully he will realize soon how incredibly bad this is for him and leave her. But until then, I would stay clear of them. If you tried to drive them apart it wouldn't be good, and if you hang around his girlfriend will make your life and his a living hell. But any girl who does that to her guy is NOT a good girlfriend. Hopefully he will gain enough self esteem to realize that and to find someone who is GOOD for him and not just "available". Probably the only reason she IS available is that no other guy in his right mind would date her!
