I really liked him but we broke up bcoz he thought i liked someone else...which i didn't of course... anyway a few nights ago at this party we got back together and i was in heaven. everything felt right it was just meant to be and i knew he felt the same way. the day after everyone thought we were going out. i thought we would. he txted me and said that even though he really likes me he wants to stay just mates coz he doesnt want to screw things up. if he liked me enough wouldnt he want to try? someone said he just wants to be hookup buddies....thats fine except that im in love with him Our Suggestion: It really sounds like, as much as you love him, he is NOT ready to commit. First he runs off on you with the lame excuse that "well you must like someone else". Hah! If he wanted to be with you he would have stayed and believed in your love, instead of jumping ship. Next he hooks up with you at a party when it's convenient but then immediately abandons you again when he can - and not even in person!! Doing breakups by text is about the lowest form of anti-communication you can stoop to. You can love him as a friend if you wish. But this guy is NOT ready for any sort of commitment. If you try to push him into it, he is just going to run away even more strongly.
