He Flirts with Her

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
I have a boyfriend and I know that before we went out he used to like a close friend of mine. Then we started to go out and he kept flirting with her. Then me and him got closer and he almost stopped flirting with her. But now my friend is the one to flirt with him. But he doesn't really seem to flirt back much. But they do it RIGHT INFRONT of me!!

What should I do?

Our Suggestion:
Flirting is a normal part of life. Everybody flirts with everybody :) You should go to France sometime and see how flirting is done by people from age 8 to 88! It's simply a way of saying "you're a cool human being".

Your guy isn't going after this "friend" of yours. You said he's not responding to it. You could probably question why your friend is doing something that bothers you. That isn't much of a friend. It sounds like the kind of girl who feels jealous that you have a guy and who now is trying to harm your relationship so she feels better about herself. So if anything I would have a talk with her and tell her that if she REALLY is your friend, she will support your relationship instead of doing something that bothers you.

If she claims she's not doing anything wrong, point out that it bothers you, so it IS wrong. If she chooses her own pleasure over your happiness, then I would ditch her. There is enough pain in the world without a "friend" adding to it.

But if it was me, I wouldn't let it bother me. Flirting is normal, and my keeping or not keeping my boyfriend should NEVER depend on me cutting him off from all other females in the world. But again, if it was MY friend who was deliberately doing something to bother ME, I would have a little chat with her.
