Visitor's Question:
I met this guy while on vacation over the summer, and hung out with him for a couple days. The last night of my vacation, we talked about our past relationships, and just about ourselves in general and we both seemed really compatible. He mentioned though that he had broken up with his girlfriend of 3 years because he realized he didnt love her and didnt want such a commited relationship right then, especially because she supposedly was pressuring him into marriage. Later that night he kissed me, and one thing led to another. Although we didnt have sex, we fooled around a lot but the whole time i felt so close and connected to him, and everything about it felt right. I strongly felt that he really cared about me, despite knowing me for such a short time. When i told him i thought it was too early to have sex, he completely respected that and afterwards, he told me that he wanted to come visit me in New Jersey (he is from Ireland). I visit Ireland quite frequently and we even decided to meet up sometime i was there again. The day i got back to New Jersey, he emailed me to let me know he had a nice time, that he had never fooled around with someone after knowing them for such a short time, and that he still wanted to meet up with me again sometime. We have been emailing ever since, but recently, he has been taking a long time to reply. i emailed him another time to make sure everything was going well for him, but still no reply. its been almost 2 months now, and I understand that maybe hes just busy with work, but now im beginning to doubt how serious he is about me and sometimes i fear that he will find someone else who is geographically closer to him than me, even though he knows that i am going to university in Ireland next year. His last few emails, hes mentioned that he wants to have sex the next time he sees me, and i dont want our relationship to be based on that. Please tell me what i should if i really want to have a committed relationship with this man.

Our Suggestion:
DUE TO SERVER PROBLEMS, THIS EMAIL WAS NOT RECEIVED UNTIL NOW. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

Long distance relationships are very tough and, unfortunately, usually fail.

Stick with your feelings and your self-respect. As much as you like this guy, there are other guys in your area who may be able to give you the time, attention and, most of all, the respect, you deserve.
