Visitor's Question:
I have been living with a wonderful woman for the past 6 months. My problem is that cant trust her. It doesnt help that I have caught her lying to me on more than one occasion.

The other night she told me she was leaving work at 5:30, well an hour later I started to worry about her so I sent her a text message. She sent one back saying she had to go back to the store, because the clerk had forgotten to give her all of her purchases at lunch, and also she had run into a girlfriend of hers there.

I found her sitting in the parkinglot with her ex boyfriend.

I know I am jealous, and I am trying not to be. but when I catch her doing things like this what am i supposed to do?

Our Suggestion:
I don't know if I would call a woman who lied to me and was caught with her ex-boyfriend in a parking lot as wonderful!! Trust is THE cornerstone to any relationship. Just what is wonderful about her if you can't trust her? Her body? Bodies fade. Her sense of humor? It sounds like she's laughing about you while she's off with other people. Her intelligence? She's using it to find ways to deceive people.

I don't know how I would call you jealous here. She's lying to you! She's betraying you! She should be the one pleading with you to stay with her and that she'll be better. You're not the one who has an issue to handle here ...

Either she shapes up or, as much as you'll miss some of her good parts, it's time to break up with her. Believe me, if she is lying to you as much as she is now, it's not going to "get better". The longer she gets away with it, the more it becomes her normal way of operating. Do you really want to worry, every time she leaves the house, if she is picking up a new sexual disease or even coming home again later on?
