We Started with Sex - Now What is Left?

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
I just started dating someone new. And we have been together for almost 2 months. But lately those sparks that were flying between us in the beginning have gone. I understand that it should change a little with time but not that quickly.

So now i am wondering was it real, or was it just sex. I tried to talk to him but whenever i tried i just talk and mumble something, because i can't explain my feelings. At the begginig he was so eager to see me, he would even skip work so he can just be with me. And now even on our weekend he don't want to get out the house to see me. He saying that he is tired.

So what should i do? is that the right time to dump him or should i give him more time?

Our Suggestion:
Being able to talk with your partner is the most important skill you can have. It's critical in any relationship. If you can't talk about sex, which is relatively unimportant, how about other more serious issues that might come up in life? Consider this your training ground that you have to learn this skill in.

Sit down with him and have a talk. I have a lot of advice on the site about how to prepare for a serious talk. Tell him that you want to build a stronger connection between you two. Ask him what his plans are for the coming weekend, and then suggest something you'd really like to do. Life doesn't just happen. You have to make it happen.
