Visitor's Question:
My boyfriend and I have been in a relationship for 2 and half years! He is one of the sweetest guys I know, def tough side to him, hes in the marine reserves. He's being activated they believe and leaving in june. The problem is we argue lots lately, theres still so much intimacy at times, eye to eye i can still say i get lost, he knows me so well and has become my best best friend, and i believe i am his.

But we are not so happy, I can't say i don't love him, because i do love him, i cant even express how much. He means the world to me, i feel in love with him, but things just arent right. I pull away so far sometimes, and i cant even explain it. But i do love him i just dont know what to do, or how to deal with it. It is like we can become so miserable and it basically sucks.

Just to clarify i'm in college, 21 and he just turend 23, hes in survey-engineering and the marines. We can and do see each other frequently but i just am so stuck right now. if i call it quites or take a break, and i want him back what do i do. Is it just theres a lot going on, or do we need time to be apart and grow? SO SO confused, please help...

Our Suggestion:
Fighting means there is some sort of a problem in the relationship that isn't being talked about. The fighting is a symptom. It's like if you broke out in a red rash. You wouldn't say the rash was "what was wrong". You'd try to figure out what CAUSED the rash (say eating raspberries or something like that) and fix the real problem.

So sit down and talk with him and really lay it on the line. A healthy relationship requires full, bare honesty. It sounds like it's time for some. You need to know what is bothering him - and bothering you - before you can start to fix it.
