Visitor's Question: I am actually in a long distance relationship right now. we met in my hometown and spent time together and he had to go back home to school while i did school here in my hometown across the country. we've been together for 2 years its been a long distance relationship for a while and we both love each other SO much. he recently needed a break (which i DID NOT WANT) because he said the distance is becoming too hard. he still promises me that we will end up getting married and live happily ever after. he PROMISES me its not me and there is NOT anyone else so i dont know if to believe that or not... its been a couple days and i cant stand how much i miss him and i asked for him back multiple times and he cant do it he said hes going to have to wait until we live together or whatever....do you think there IS possibly someone else? (he recently told me that an old crush that he once wanted, wants him now (before this crush didnt want him) but he claims he doesnt want his old crush anymore).... do u think he wants someone else or REALLY needs a break cause of the distance??? PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME Our Suggestion: I've said this many many times. A break is a stupid idea. Either he wants to be with you or he doesn't. If he deliberately chooses NOT to be with you, then this means he CAN be with someone else. That means he can fall in love with someone else and then obviously he won't be marrying you. If long distance is hard for him, then what's his plan here? To sleep around with other women and to promise never to fall in love with them? That doesn't work. Either he is with you, working towards a future, or he is not, and keeping his options open.
