Visitor's Question:
Recently I reconnected with a man who worked in the same office as I did. We have become very good friends in the last year, and it is obvious that his feelings go beyond friendship. I am not certain how I feel about him: one day I want to be just friends, the next day I hope for more. Bottom line, I don't think he's "the one"...assuming that "the one" exists. I haven't had a relationship for a while so it would be nice to have a boyfriend. I'm afraid of ruining a great friendship, as my track-record with guys is horrible...and my friend is really sweet and sensitive. Should I take the next step with my friend and risk losing him if it all falls apart? Am I being completely selfish and inconsiderate of his feelings? I'm really worried about hurting his feelings!

Our Suggestion:
As a friend, tell him how you feel. Decide, as friends, how to proceed. If you go for a relationship, deicide as a adults and friends to remain friends if it doesn't work out.

Dating someone for the sake of just dating is not a good idea. In the end you will both be hurt.

If you've had bad luck with guys, the common denominator in all of those relationships is you. You may want to look for patterns in your life/behaviors/choices.

Best of luck.
