Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
My questions is proberly one you have heard a thousand times. I have a very good female friend who I also fancy like crazy. She moved to the uk in March of this year, we met in April and we have become very close friends. I want to tell her how I feel but I am afraid of losing our friendship. She has told me before she does not want a boyfriend but I know she is afraid of being hurt. She knows I care for her and I know she cares about me. I told her the other day she was beautiful and she went a little red, she also had a dream about me being hurt in a car crash and she woke up crying, should I read anything into this? She has told me I am kind, very thoughtfull and caring. I will do anything for her and she doen't take advantage of this partly because she is very inderpendent. I could go on and on but I wont bore you LOL. Please help.

Our Suggestion:
Yup, it's very common to fall in love with a friend, and it's also a great thing. Relationships are definitely based on friendship and people who can talk, and if you have that, it gives you a great shot at a really wonderful relationship. It's also very common to be afraid of harming the friendship you have. So you have to take it slow.

I do have some tips here -

The general advice is to go slow and show her that you can be friends AND physical without one harming the other. So keep spending time with her, and give her hugs hello and goodbye. Then move up to a kiss on the cheek when you hug. Don't say "we are dating now!" just show her more and more that you care. She'll realize that really, you have cared all along, and that it's part of your relationship. And that it's not scary, it's actually quite nice. When you get to the point that you're giving her that kiss on the lips instead of the cheek, you will have gotten there without having to have a stressful scene about saying things. It's always better to show your love than to talk about it.

Good luck!
