I Like Her, She's Quiet

Suggest Advice

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
I am an 11th grader, and have fallen for a girl in the same grade. She's very attractive, seems to be quite silent, and I have been attracted to her for quite some time but don't know how spark a conversation. I have known her for quite a while, but we're not too close. She occassionally smiles at me, which I take is a good sign, and I usually return with a smile, or a greeting of somesuch.

Although she's not one of the preppy chicks that you usually find in HS, she is friendly and accepted by just about everyone. I myself am not to much of a socialist, and I have a horrible fear of rejection which usually leads to me not ever asking someone out.

I would like some tips on how to find out if she is even slightly interested in me. Or ways that I could become a little socially closer to her. Any help would be nice.
Thanks

Our Suggestion:
That sparking a conversation is the basis of flirting. Flirting is all about getting to talk to someone, breaking the ice and building the connection. Sure, she's shy and you're shy. Most people are shy, it's just that some people practice at flirting so they become good at it.

So spend some time and work on your flirting skills! I have a TON of tips on the site -

just try something new each day. If you say one thing to her each day, it'll get easier and easier to talk to her. And the more you talk to her, the easier it'll be for her to talk back to you. The more you talk, the friendlier you will get. And the more you become friends, the easier it'll be to talk about movies you enjoy, and even agree to go see one together. Build it up slowly!
