Visitor's Question:
i am a 21yr old girl and till last so many years i never found this guy as a person whom i thought i could love. i had a boy freind and we brokeup after a healthy 5 year old affair. from last year and a half or so i had no interst in guys. now i have joined an office and this guy works with me he a school met. we were in the same class....Till last week i never had any feeling for him but suddenly one day when he held my hand( it was a rainy day and there were no lights in the office and i was feeling scared) i just felt some sense of security that may be i couldn't find anywhere else....he has had so many affairs and told me about each and every affair, but even after knowing that he has been flirting around with other girls i find that some where in the deep of my heart i have started loving him...i have shared this to a best and a common friend of ours.......here the biggest problem that i am facing is not that he would say no coz he can never say so. but instead that he is a christian and i am a hindu having the same mother tongue, but my parents are very orthodox they may not allow me, so i have not expressed my feeling to him as i think i should start something which i know is wrong, but i can't help it. pls. suggest whether i should propose him .......or if he proposes me then should i say yes or no????????????your suggestion may change my life drastically.

Our Suggestion:
I would give a different answer if it weren't for your parents. Normally I would say just go for it! But, since your parents are orthodox and are going to be very negative about the relationship, you might want to respect their wishes and find someone more suitable for yourself. You should bring up the idea to your parents and see what they say about it. Maybe they're more willing than you think to allow another religion into the family. If so, then you're all set. If not, then you need to think about what you'll be sacrificing to go out with this guy.

You're 21, which may feel like forever, but really you have plenty of years ahead of you to find the right guy. Find ways of keeping yourself busy and having fun, whether it's with a group of friends or joining a learning circle and meeting new people. It's all going to be a positive in your life and will increase your chances of finding just the right person.

Good luck!
