Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
I really like my best friend. I've always wanted to be more than friends. About 1 year ago, I asked him out through a note. He wrote back, and said no. Right now, he doesn't know that I still like him. I don't want to hide my feelings, but I don't want him to say no again. I've read through you advice on going from friends to boyfriend/girlfriend. All of my friends know that I'm kind of a tomboy, so I'm not into the whole hugging goodbye thing. Another problem, is that if I ask him to a movie by ourselves, he'll know that I still like him, and he won't do it. How do I ask him out?

Our Suggestion:
You're stuck between a rock and a hard spot. You don't want him to know how you feel about him, but you want to go out on a date. You can't have it both ways. I suggest you take the plunge again and tell him how you feel. This time talk with him and see what his response is. This way you can also argue with him why he should like you and why he should give you a chance. Coach it that you want a trial dating situation, like a 3 date thing, so that you can see if there's any spark there. If not, then you go back to being friends, but if so, then you've got a relationship started.

Get up the courage and just do it!
