My Boyfriend is Feeling Sorry for Screwing Up

Suggest Advice

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
Okay, my boyfriend was with his friends and then their girlfriends ended up with them along with another girl making him and that girl the odd balls! And that girl kissed him. And he broke up with me and all because he felt so badly about it and didn't wanna hurt me anymore.

We are back together and all I decided to take your advice and give it a fair try, and I have to say that things are going GREAT!! But... he keeps asking me why I like him so much and why I stay with him after he messed up so badly and I told him that I love him and I'm not just gonna walk away from that b/c he made a mistake, a mistake that I can tell he's sorry for making especially considering that he's constantly telling me how sorry he is! We'll be in the car and a song will come on that reminds him somewhat of what he did and he'll just look @ me and tell me how sorry he is and tell me how much he loves me and that he'll never make a mistake like that again. It shows me that he sees the mistake he made and is just trying to fix it, and how much he cares!

But with him constantly asking me why I stayed with him after he did that to me makes me wonder if I honestly am doing the right thing by giving him another chance if he's wondering why shouldn't I, you know? Help...

Our Suggestion:
Wait, you wanted him back. You got him back. He's really upset about hurting you and wants to make it up to you. And this bothers you??

Most girls would be THRILLED to get their guy back and to have their guy so upset about making a mistake. Are you saying that because he made one mistake and is truly sorry - that you should just dump him?

Being a girlfriend is about sticking by your partner through bad and good. You've stuck by him. Now don't wimp out and run off because your boyfriend is being properly remorseful! Would you rather have a guy who laughed and didn't care about he hurt you?
