Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
I've been dating someone for almost three years and I have never met his family, he hasn't said that he loves me although he knows how I feel about him. He never invites me to anything involving his family or friends. He never wants to be involved in any of my family events. It almost seems like he is embarrassed to be seen with me. I'm not unattractive or overweight. I have a lot of good qualities and everything in my life is in good shape except my relationship with him. I've been told by several people that I'm classy and beautiful. It's like he tries to keep me a big secret and I'm sure he is never going to commit. I feel like I'm wasting my time. What's your advise.

Our Suggestion:
I think it's about time for you to sit down with him and have a heart to heart talk about what's going on. Three years is plenty of time to meet friends/family and there's no way that he has adequate excuses to explain away why he doesn't bring you.

You need to figure out what you want in the relationship, lay it out for him, and ask him if he's willing to meet your desires. If he's not willing to commit to what you are looking for, then you do need to move on. It doesn't sound like he's the right one for you. You certainly deserve better.

Maybe he'll step up to the plate or maybe not, but the only way you'll know is to ask. And be prepared to take action on whatever his answer is.

Good luck!
Jenn
