Stood her upSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Hi, I'm friends with a guy I met about a month and a half ago. We meet for a drink and chat every Wednesday. We met last wednesday and he called me on sunday to talk a problem at work through. We do this often enough usually just chat through a problem or a grumble to let off steam and get a fresh perspective. He said we would meet Wednesday as usual. He stood me up on Wednesday. I called to see what was wrong he answered the phone and hung up promptly without a word. I text him twice and received no reply. all I want to know is should I persist and call him again or should I just wait and see if he gets in touch? Should I just consign it to the great lost friendship drawer in the sky or give it time and a chance? I am new in Auckland having arrived here from the UK three months ago. He is what I would consider a close friend and one of the lot I have made so far. However my other friends are fine just this one has developed a speed bump. help please very confused and a bit hurt. Our Suggestion: I am as confused as you. Some misunderstanding may have occured and he is unwilling to discuss it. If I were you, I would write a text message asking him to have the courtesy of explaining why stopped communicating with you. If he won't answer that request, I agree that you should put him in the "lost friendship drawer." Sad to do, but sometimes that's all you can do.
