You could have gotten an infection if his hands were dirty. It might be nothing, it might be something you want to take care of right away. There's no way to guess without a real, trained nurse or doctor taking a look. Also ANY time things start to hurt you should let your partner know and stop it. If you just keep going because you don't want to hurt his feelings, you can cause yourself some serious harm.
