Born-again virgin

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
I am a 53 year young woman dating a 55 year young man. I have been a single, born-again virgin who hasn't had a serious dating relationship for 10 years. He has been separated for almost a year. He will be divorced in a few months. We are falling in love but I'm nervous about intimacy past the kiss/hug stages. I'm not nervous about the physical part but the morality part. If we became more intimate, wouldn't that be considered adultery if he isn't legally divorced? Because I feel strongly that we will be married eventually, would being more intimate now harm us down the road?

Our Suggestion:
Two part question. First, it is my belief that sex before he is divorced would be considered adultery. Second, you have to decide for yourself whether your morality would permit sex before marriage. I personally don't think it would harm you down the road if you mutually felt comfortable with it now.

Best wishes,
George
