Visitor's Question:
hi..well i had a b/f that i stayed with for 8 days and then he broke up with me for the following reason and thats because he is 21 and i'm 15, and i'm really not supposed to tell anyone about it, coz he would get in trouble coz of me and stuff.

i actually told some people and i thought i could trust them, but the whole situation went around my building and alot of people started knowing about it and plus he works in my building too. we've talked on the phone and i apologized to him for everything and he said that he's not madd at me and he was soo cool with me too.

i also called him after he went to a meeting with his boss and he told me that we can't really talk like before, he told me just when he sees me he's going to say hi and stuff. and i agreed with him coz i already thought about not talking to him at all until the whole situation calms down and people stop talkin about it.

i know its a big difference between me and him, but i went out with him coz he didn't want to be with me for any sexual reasons and plus i ain't that kinda gurl that would give up her virginity or anything..so my question is, do you think he'll come back to me when everything starts calming down or no?

Our Suggestion:
That is definitely a big age difference when you're a teenager, but say when you are 20 and he is 26, that's not that big of an age difference any more.So if you look at this in the long term view, a few years isn't much to wait when you could potentially be together for 60 years or more!

I would stay friends with him, be nice, and take things slowly. There's no reason to dive into dating him right now, since there's lots of time for that later on. Be his friend, talk with him, be patient. As you turn 15 1/2 and 16 and 16 1/2, the age difference will be less and less of an issue, and also the longer you two are together and know each other and show people that you're not rushing into things, the more tolerant they will be of you two caring for each other.
