Visitor's Question: Okay...So I have been hanging out with this guy for a long time off and on...We met in our first year of High School and are still pretty close friends...He recently had a girlfriend and we still were hanging out together and it just seemed to me he would want to hang out with me more than his girlfriend...So about 2 or 3 weeks ago him and his gf broke up...I was on a family vacation and thought a lot about how this guy is meant for me and how much I really like him... Well I got home and I got to talk to him one night on the internet and I had to tell him how I felt and how much I liked him and why...After telling him he was like yea I feel the same way and he just told me he was afraid to ask my out in high school and probably even now...He explained that he is afraid because he doesn't want to loose a good friend... I understand that but I think we would really be good for each other, plus we are really good friends and we both like each other...We hung out last night and it seems like we are both too shy to say anything about dating each other...He leaves for a trip this week and told me he would call me when he gets back... I just wish there was someway of trying to get us together, but we are both to shy to push things on one another... WE both know we like each other but I guess I am just stuck on what to do about all this...Please help me and share your thoughts....Thank you sooooooo much! Our Suggestion: Neither of you should have to push each other into something. My advice is pretty simple. Tell him you have been thinking about the idea of going out some more and that you think you two should give it a try. Then if it doesn't work out you would promise to continue being friends.
