Visitor's Question:
Hi, My name is E* and I have a boyfriend named A*. We met when we were in middle school and we had chemistry and got along really well. When he moved on to High school he never called me or anything. On the first day of school, I saw him outside and i was walking towards him when I realized he was'nt there to visit me, he was there to visit his ex-girlfriend(who was his girlfriend before I was) who was know his girlfriend. I didn't even know what was going on. Later on I sent him a letter telling him what I felt for him. And he called me and said that he wanted to talk to me. Then we became best friends, although we still felt something for each other. Later on I had to move back to L.A. where I currently live and left him behind in New York. One day I grabbed the phone and called him to see how he was doing and he told me that he missed me a lot and that he loved me, and he asked me if I wanted to be his girlfriend. So I said yes. But i call my friends in N. York and they tell me that he's still going out with his ex. when I ask him, he totally denies it and tells me that he's going to move over here in about 2 years. He never calls me or writes to me or anything, I'm the one who has to call him all the time, and I don't like it and it's been a year since i've seen him. What should I do?

Our Suggestion:
My advice is to move on and find someone new.

You haven't seen him in a year (and may not see him for another two years). He probably is seeing his ex. He doesn't call you.

This is not a good picture for you to be in. He seems to be stringing you along as a "phantom" girlfriend about whom he can talk to his buddies to prove how attractive he is.

You need to take care of yourself and find yourself someone new who is nearby and who will treat you with respect. All you need is a new boyfriend and you will quickly forget the boy from NY.

My best wishes are with you!
Good luck,
George
