Visitor's Question:
Hi I need help to figure out what I'm suppose to do now.My boyfriend and I have only been seeing each other for going on 3 months, but a couple weeks back he had a few beers and told me he was falling in love with me and that it scared him because he hasn't said that to anyone since he was married, but that he can't help how he feels. After that he's only said it once and he had been drinking then too.I do love him and it does scare me alittle, but one night on the phone we were talking and he said that he realized when he was married and after his divorced that saying I love you doesn't always mean anything and that he doesn't trust anyone. How can I get him to understand that i've been hurt just like he has and I'm not like his ex wife and that I can see us being together for ever.

Our Suggestion:
Rome was not built in a day.

You have to take your time with him and slowly let him feel your love for him every day. It may take months or a year before he relaxes his bad feelings from his former relationship.

You've only been with him for three months and that isn't long enough for a good strong bond to have developed between you. That he told you he loves you is a very positive sign for the future of your relationship.

Keep working at it!
George
