I emailed a message to him anyway expressing my feelings to him

Visitor's Question:
I live in a co-ed dorm and one of my R.A.'s is extremely popular with the opposite sex. We've spoken over the internet and in person all the time. One of my friends is really close to him and found out that he had gotten out of a relationship earlier this year and is not searching for another one. Knowing this I emailed a message to him anyway expressing my feelings to him and a few days later he told me that he likes someone else in our building. He told me that he will always be there for me. Everyone told me that this girl is just a rebound and it isn't that important. I want to to believe that but I just want to be smart about it. I think I've fallen in love with my friend but he is with my neighbor. I want to be there for him the way he is with me but it isn't so genuine when I have these feelings for him. On the outside I look like I've moved on but I am dead inside. I always find him staring at me and we're trying to go on as friends but I need some help. I don't want any one else.

Our Suggestion:
Let him do his thing until he realizes that she is only a rebound.

Meanwhile stay his good friend like you are now.

One day he may be free and turn to you for romantic love.

Not much else you can do! George
