Visitor's Question:
My ex and I broke up about 3 months ago. we have been dating for about 2 1/2 years. He joined the Navy and after about a year and 1/2 dating he got stationed in Washington and i live in wisconsin. We had a long-distance realtionship for about a year but we broke up b/c we both decied it would be easy. While in Washington my Ex was really sad b/c he missed being home. he didnt go out alot and didnt know alot of people..so we talked alot on the phone, internet...we even had webcams. We thought breaking up would be easier but its not. i love and i miss him. so about 2 weeks ago i wrote him an email asking if he still loved me and if it was over. i told him to be honest and dont worry about hurting me. he wrote me back saying that he still loved me and he hasnt stopped, and that its not over with. i wrote him back telling him that i still love him too and why we cant make this work. he said that he can handel being away from me. i told him that i would move out there to be with him but he said that its too hard b/c i dont have money and we dont have a place to live. so i dont know what to think if we still love eachother then why doesnt he want to be in a realtionship? Does he want to be with me but cant handel the distance or what??

Our Suggestion:
If you two get married, the Navy will increase his pay and you can afford an apartment. Then if you got a job that would be extra cash. (He should ask his pay office how much extra money he would get to be sure you have enough before taking the big step of marriage).

Be sure to have a lot of long, deep, honest and caring conversations on this topic before making such an important decision. Marriage is not something to jump into rashly. During these conversations you will get a better idea about how he feels towards you.

Good luck! George
