Does it sound like we just too nervous to perform, or do you think we just aren’t meant to be

Visitor's Question:
I have been a friend with this guy for a couple of years. In the last 2 or three months we have gotten really close to each other and hang out every weekend, and sometimes during the week too. I have really grown to like him a lot, and I think that he might even love me. Anyway, we recently shared our feelings for each other and the other night we tried to hook up for the first time. Everything seemed all wrong. We just didn’t seem sexually compatible at all. I was in a long-term relationship for a real long time, and was super nervous because this was the first time I was with someone since the break up. The guy was also really nervous because he said that he liked me a lot, and it’s been a really long time since he’s been with a girl. Plus the fact that his roommates were all home, and we kinda had the feeling that they were listening to us. Anyway, we both agreed that we were just too nervous to do it. Now that’s its been a couple of days later, im starting to feel super embarrassed, and that I made a huge mistake. At the same time I still really like the guy. Does it sound like we just too nervous to perform, or do you think we just aren’t meant to be, and we should just go back to being friends before its to late?

Our Suggestion:
I'd be nervous too.

Having roommates around is definitely a turnoff. And with both partners having nerves it was just not meant to be.

My recommendation is that you rent a motel room, go out for a nice dinner, and watch a movie in the motel and see what develops.

Good luck! George
