Visitor's Question:
I need help ASAP. I feel kinda silly doing this, but i need advice and it is really bugging me. I have a boyfriend who i have been dating for a little over 2 months now. He is the best boyfriend ever. Treats me awesome. What i don't get is that everytime i feel we are getting better he tells me he was contemplating on breaking up with me. We had a talk the other night and he said he liked getting up going to class, going to the gym, coming home playing video games, doing homework and going to bed. And i told him he seems like he is happy with his average everyday routines and doesnt seem like he needs a gf. But he says he doesn't want to break up with me... he just feels trapped. I give him all the freedom he needs. I can't go to the bar yet, but he is 23 so he is able to. I don't care if he goes to the bar with his friends, and i don't care if we don't see each other every day. I just want to atleast hear from him in order to know hes still thinking about me. Its so complicating because he has never had a real relationship. I just want to know what i should do because i'm trying really hard. i feel like we could have something if he was willing to change a little. I told him he was a priority to me and he told me i was a priority to him also. He also says i'm the best girlfriend ever and he doesn't know what he wants. I'm so confused. PLEASE HELP ME. I just like him a lot and i really need to know how to get to him. He is too awesome of a guy for me to lose. I've never met anyone like him. Hes great.

Please help.

Our Suggestion:
Your b/f sounds as confused as you are.

He's never had a relationship before so naturally he doesn't quite understand what it means. He has missed out on six or more years of the daily give and take of a good relationship. If you want him, you will have to train him after he has gotten set in his ways.

The best way to do this is to teach him to compromise. You and he should discuss this and figure out something that works for both of you. Figure out what you need from him and see how he reacts to it.

It will take a while for you two to smoothly relate to each other, but it can be done with good hearts working together.

Good luck! George
