Her Parents keep us apart

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
For the past month or so i have been talking to a girl that is 2 or 3 years younger than me. She tells me she likes me alot and i like her alot but the problem is i rarely ever get a chance to see her. The only time i get to see her is when we're at school and thats only like for 15 to 20 minutes. One of her friends told me that her parents thought i was too old for her and her mom doesnt want her talking to me, and when i try to call her and talk to her, her mom lets us talk but for only like 10 or 15 mins. Her mom thinks that im going to go out with her and use her, but i seriously like this girl!!! I dont really know her parents and i havent talked to them or met them face to face yet. What should i do?

Our Suggestion:
It's very common for parents of a younger girl to want to protect her. There are plenty of horror stories all through history of guys using girls and then leaving them.

The only way they will realize you are honorable and care for her is if you show it through your words and actions. So take it slow. There's no rush. If you guys were meant for each other that's 50+ years of life together, a few months or years here at the beginning are nothing. Make sure you get into situations where you are with the parents. Talk to them, even casually, so they get to know you as a real person. They will be able to see that you care for her honestly, are not for the 'quick score' and are willing to take it slow and steady, to wait until she is ready.

I think if they get to know you, and know that this is a long term plan of yours, that they will start to accept it. Parents of girls want their girls to end up with someone stable, loving, honorable and trustworthy. That is the ultimate goal of most parents of girls. If you can show you are these things, they will be grateful that it is you she cares for and not a slimy user.
