Visitor's Question:
Ok here I go...

I live in Canberra Australia and my two best friends are a couple. However over a short time I have started to like my best friend's younger sister.

We have chatted only a couple times but she seems to be a great girl. She laughs at the silly things that I do and she seems to listen to me, and she waved at me and smiled when we past each other at the Bus stop one time.

Because I hardly see her much, I can't really do much about it. I'm also worried about what my best friend might think, not that she would bite my head off but the fear of saying something.

Also she is 16 and I am 20. Some people may think that's a large gap but I don't think so. Another relationship in her family is seven years apart so maybe it ins't that bad of a thing.

I am a loud and eccentric character most of the time but when it comes to love I run into my shell and hide.

What should I do?

Our Suggestion:
The age difference doesn't seem to great to me.

First ask your best friend how she feels about it. Don't be surprised by a negative response though. She still thinks of her sister as her "little" sister. Ask her questions about age, how the family would react, how her sister would react. Your friend will not view it so poorly if you make her your ally by asking all kinds of questions.

It isn't surprising that you are attracted to this sister because she has the same background as your best friend.

Good luck! George
