what a sad story. I totally agree with Carl and PDM.he needs to get help and soon.since he doesn't want to talk to a Dr. he might be persuaded to speak with a pastor or priest.your proving to be a great friend continue to keep communication open hopefully he'll come to realize he needs professional all.
